RTR at Appleton: Learning, Leading, and Leveling Up

This past weekend, RTR participated in the WIN District Appleton Event, our first official Rebuilt Competiton, and we are incredibly proud of our students’ performance. We are proud to share that RTR finished as District Finalists, entering alliance selection ranked 8th and going on to captain the 5th alliance alongside #6421 WarriorBots and #2830 Riverside RoboTigers.

In addition, we were honored to receive the Innovation in Control Award, which recognizes our robot’s software and programming. This is the first time in team history that we’ve won a programming award, and we are all super proud of this achievement!

This competition highlighted the incredible efforts of our students. Jacob, our new pit boss, did an outstanding job managing repairs and keeping the pit running smoothly under pressure.

Payton, our event safety captain, earned the Safety All-Star Award after being nominated by another team for maintaining a safe and organized pit throughout the event.

Zahari was a big help in the pits, assisting with scouting and alliance selection. He also did a great job talking to judges and answering questions.

Finally, Delaney, our strategy lead, helped organize our scouting alliance with Team 1259 Paradigm Shift and played a key role in alliance selection as we decided on our alliance.

Our scouting efforts were a huge overall success, especially in collaboration with Paradigm Shift. We appreciate the energy they brought throughout the weekend and want to give a shout-out to them for always cheering for our team and initiating cheers on our behalf. Their team demonstrated amazing gracious professionalism throughout the entire weekend, and we appreciate their support (also, congrats to Paradigm Shift for winning the Impact award and advancing to FIRST Leadership Semi-Finalist!)

As always, we would also like to thank our mentors, parents, and sponsors for making this experience possible. Your support allows us to learn, grow, and succeed both on and off the field.RTR is just getting started this season, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Our next competition will be the WIN District Seven Rivers Event. We hope to see you there!
