Gem, standing for Gender Equality in Manufacturing, has a mission to promote gender equality, empower women, and raise awareness of the role women play in engineering. Our goal is to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for future generations of women in STEM fields.

Our Story

Beginning as an idea in a Principles of Engineering class back in 2023, GEM was founded by two girls from our team with a mission to promote women and gender minorities in STEM. A love for FIRST Robotics and a drive to make social change is what created this program, and we aspire to expand it across Wisconsin and close the gender gap in engineering fields.
