Round Table Robotics’ rocking week at MROC!

This past weekend, FRC Team 1792, Round Table Robotics, had the opportunity to compete at the Mukwonago Robotics Offseason Competition—Wisconsin’s premiere off-season event. It was an action-packed weekend full of learning, growth, and exciting moments both on and off the field.

This weekend, RTR competed in 12 qualification matches, and we entered alliance selections ranked 19th. However, our journey didn’t stop there. We were thrilled to be selected as a member of Alliance 3, alongside Team 1259 – Paradigm Shift, who served as our alliance captain, and Team 2171 – The RoboDogs. Together, our alliance fought hard in the double-elimination bracket and made it to Round 5 of the playoffs, where our run came to an end.

While the competition on the field was intense, the greatest value of this weekend came from the experience it gave to our newer team members. For many, this was their first time taking on roles such as driver, operator, human player, or technician on the drive team. Others learned about robot repairs in the pit and gained hands-on exposure to the systems that power our robot, as well as experiencing their first competition. MROC also featured seminars and workshops, offering valuable lessons in team Impact, fundraising, and other skills.

One of the highlights of the weekend was being honored with the Business Excellence Award. This award recognizes teams with strong organization, community engagement, and a clear vision for sustainability. We are honored to be given this award, and we see it as a reflection of the work we’ve done not only in building a robot, but in building a team that supports each other, grows its outreach, and develops a strong presence both in our school and community. This award also allows us to be sponsored by TouchPad Electronics, which we are very excited for!

Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep the momentum going with more offseason competitions on the horizon. We'll be heading to Leviathan Robotics Rampage and TWIST, an all-female competition, where we’ll have the chance to compete with new teams, gain even more hands-on experience, and continue building lasting memories with our teammates and the greater FIRST community. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the offseason brings.

We’re incredibly proud of our team, and we would like to thank those who contributed to our success this weekend, such as our alliance partners, event hosts, mentors, and sponsors, who made this weekend such a success!
