Another week has gone by, and RTR is gearing up for week 6, more excited than ever for the competition season and our robot reveal. Our first competition will take place on February 22nd, 2026, at the Week 0 Sussex Scrimmage. More details can be found on the Charger Robotics’ website.
Our robot reveal is scheduled for March 3rd, 2026. The official robot reveal program begins at 6:30 PM, where we’ll showcase the robot, demonstrate its capabilities, and celebrate our students’ accomplishments. We will also have students performing our Impact presentation. Families, friends, and community members are all encouraged to attend and cheer on the team as we launch into competition season. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on. Join us for an evening of innovation, teamwork, and excitement as we reveal our 2026 robot!

This week, our Assembly subteam finished the turret, indexer, and spindexer builds, built one set of bumpers, and added our climber onto the robot. They also worked on the robot cart for this season.

Programming focused on updating our Beta robot’s code and the code for Helix, our demo robot, while waiting for Beta to be built.

The Strategy subteam finished the scouting app and experimented with different methods for counting fuel during match scouting.

Our Electrical subteam continued wiring Beta and began adding pneumatics. They are currently working on wiring the CAN loop to Beta as well.
Fabrication worked on making parts for our KitBot and Charlie Bot, helped out with making bumpers, and helped with assembly.
The Business and Awards subteams submitted their Impact award materials, and received the Impact presentation boards from our sponsor, Zünd. They also worked on the planning of our robot reveal.

Our Safety subteam worked on event emergency plans and our safety business cards. They also worked on adding safety materials to our website.

This week, some of our RTR students, along with our FLL students, traveled to Madison for the FIRST Wisconsin Advocacy day to advocate for lowering the DPI Participation League Grant eligibility from 6th-12th grade to K-12th grade. We want to further the possibilities of STEM education for all students and better encourage them in our STEM Pathway. We were able to speak with Wisconsin State Senator Chris Larson and Assembly member Jessie Rodriguez, which was a very cool opportunity for our students!

Finally, thank you so much to our sponsors, mentors, and families. Our achievements would not be possible without your support! Also, big thanks to our team parents for cooking a delicious build season spaghetti dinner for us!
